Well, today Mom had her knee replacement. We had to be up at the hospital today at 6:45am. We got up to Surgicare and sat and talked with some people from Mom and Dad's church. It wasn't too long before she was called back to get her IV put in and get all ready. After they got her ready, it wasn't too long before they came to take her to pre-op. We walked with her to the pr-op and then said our I love you's and see you later's. Dad and I went to the surgical waiting area and waited till around 10am where the surgeon came out and told us that all went well with the surgery. Around 12:30 or so, she finally made it to her room...#919. Pretty much since then, she been sleeping on and off. She hasn't really been able to eat, because she keeps getting sick, but other than that, she's been doing good just resting up for the big day tomorrow. Tomorrow, they will be getting her up and walking. We also want to say thank you to those who have checked up on her today and sent her flowers. Thank you Ms. Louise and Bill and Sally Sandefur!

Well I'm so excited today because we went to see our awesome bird breeder and we got an amazing HUGE new cage for Rudy. He looks so tiny in it, but I just know he's going to love it! We spent almost 7 hours at Amber and Mike's house today, visiting with them and playing with all the awesome birds! We took Rudy to visit too, who is now so super exhausted. He had such a big day today. He wasn't too sure about all the other birds seeing as he hasn't been around any since we got him from them back in January. So, we decided that we are going to try to start taking him over there for play dates to get him socialized with other birds, so maybe one day we can get another bird for him to play with. It was so fun watching Robert roar and flip upside-down like a dog playing with human....I don't think he knows he's a McCaw lol. Paco was a new one for us to see as well and he was a hoot with his sceaming and saying HELLO! We also got to play with the baby Red Rumps and also Monkey, the other Red Rump. They have such a sweet sound and are so adorable. Nick held Harley the Eclectus for a bit until he got a little nippy and had to go back to his cage for time out. We also played with a few Cockatiels that were also really adorable. I don't know about Nick, but the Cockatiels kind of made me miss Woodstock and the sweet sounds he used to make. It was so much fun getting to meet Dusty and Mario too. Mario is a very small McCaw and I can't remember what Dusty was, I'll have to ask Nick to see if he remembers. We had a blast and didn't even realize that 7 hours had gone by until we both started getting tired and hungry lol. Time just flies when we are there hanging out with Amber, Mike, and all the wonderful birdies. Can't wait to go back next time for our play date to socialize Rudy some more, until then Rudy will be getting used to his HUGE new cage. I'll post pictures later, it's like 3am and I'm pretty tired.. :o)
Nick gets off at 12pm on Friday and comes home so we can finish packing and getting all the animals together so we can head to the Greene family reunion in Lake Park, GA. Finally, we get packed up and get the car loaded and then get the the 2 dogs and the bird in the car. We head in to Americus to drop Houston and Poohbear off at the vet to be boarded for the weekend. Houston also had to have his shots while we were there, so it took us a little while to get everything done. After we drop the dogs off, we get the bird settled in the back because he was sitting in my lap while the dogs were in the back. After we're all settle back in , we decide that we want to get something to eat. So....I decided I wanted Zaxby's and Nick wanted Carters. We got our food and ate it on the road. We also had to stop in DeSoto at the house, to get some things we needed for the weekend. Then, FINALLY we are off to our destination of the family reunion. We got to the 4-H camp somewhere between 4:30 and 5:00pm, where we unloaded the car of all of our stuff and Rudy too. We show off Rudy to Angela and Emmanuel (my cousin and her boyfriend) for a little while, all the while some other family are stopping by to see the bird too. We then head to the dining hall because it was almost time for dinner. For dinner we had pizza and there was watermelon and salad also. After dinner, we went back to Angela and Eman's room to visit the ferrets that they had brought with them. Those little furbabies were a hoot....so cute! After that, we went back to the dining hall to see what everyone was up to. We then sat down to play a game of dominoes, which was crazy. Nick had Rudy with him, so after a while, him and Rudy went back to the room to go to bed. I played a little bit more dominoes, but got to hurting, so ended up going to bed not too long after. Saturday we got up early and went to Chick-fil-a to get breakfast and took it back to the dining hall to eat with everyone. After breakfast, we all sat on the dock for a little while and watched Angela, Eman, and some others catch some fish. After that, we decided to go to walmart so we could get Nick a bathing suit, so we could go swimming. While we were in town, we decided to go to Petsmart too. We got Rudy a couple of toys and Gracie a toy, and Ginger some hair bows. After that we saw Old Navy next to Petsmart, so we decided to check it out. Nick ended up getting a couple of pairs of shorts and some flip flops. He bought me some flip flops too because they were on sale for $2. After that, we get a call from Angela's mom saying we needed to come back because they needed the jelly that we had picked up for her for lunch. So, we headed back and went to eat lunch. For lunch we had hot dogs. After lunch, we decided that we wanted to go swimming, so we went back to the room to get changed. After we got changed, we headed to the lake. Gracie went swimming with us too, she did super great and even got in the water by herself, which she has never done. We swam for a little while and Grace got tired, so we got out and went back to the room to get changed. After we changed, we decided we were super tired, so we ended up taking a nap. After we woke up, we decided to go down to the dinning hall, by this time, it was almost time for dinner. We ate chicken, baked beans, corn bread, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember lol. After dinner, they had a pinata for the kids to hit, so we all sat outside and watched the kids destroy the pinata. After that we took Madison to go see the ferrets in Angela and Eman's room. We ended up staying there for quite a while. Several people dropped in to see the ferrets while we were in there as well. After Madison's mom took her back to the dining hall, we all stayed in the room for a little bit, trying to decide what we wanted to do. We all decided that we were thirsty, so we went to the dining hall where we got drinks and sat to watch some of the people playing dominoes again. After a while, we decided we were all tired, so we went to the cabin to go to bed. Sunday, we get up early to start packing. We get everything packed and then get the car loaded. After we've gotten everything packed and the car loaded, and the room cleaned we went to say goodbye to everyone. We all stood outside for a while, chatting and saying our goodbyes. We also took some pictures together before we left. We leave the campground and head to Mcdonalds to get some breakfast, before making our way back home. All in all, it was a great reunion....so good to see family that we don't get to see too often. Just wished it lasted a little longer!
Nick and I get up early to run errands and get his oil changed before making our way to the family reunion in Lake Park, GA. We got to the 4-H camp at Twin Lakes around 4:30pm where we unloaded the truck. We then went around the camp introducing Nick to some of the family and trying Robin, Mom, and Dad. We also met up with Angela and her boyfriend Mike and said hey and decided to go swimming in the lake. After swimming we went back to the cabin and changed back in to dry clothes and went to the dining hall to get ready for dinner. After dinner Angela, Mike, Nick and I decided to go out to a pub because Mike wanted to watch the Stanley Cup hockey game. So we went to this place called CJ's Pub and I had a drink called a Jolly Rancher which was amazing...I loved it...and Nick had a drink and smoked a cigar while we all watched the game. We came back to the camp and went to bed. Saturday we got up for breakfast around 8am and went to the dining hall around 8:30am. I wasn't feeling too well so Nick and I headed back to the cabin to take a much needed nap. We didn't get back up until lunch time where we went to the dining hall once again. After lunch we went to the cabin to change into our bathing suits and we went swimming again for a little while. I started not feeling well again so we once again went back to the cabin to change into dry clothes and lay down again for a little while. After a while we got back up and went to the dining hall to hang out with family. Then it was time for Mexican Night dinner. After dinner, we sat down with Mom, Robin, and Aunt AnnaLynn to play Phase 10. We didn't get to finish our game because soon it was 8pm which meant it was time for the icecream social. So, we set everything up and served to everyone before enjoying the icecream ourselves. After the icecream, we sat back down to try to finish our game but got distracted by people leaving and cleaning up the dining hall around us. Nick went and got his fireworks out of the car and we took them to the dock and shot a few off with some of the other kids at the reunion. Nick was having a blast, he was just like a little kid in a candy store. After the fireworks, we went to the screened in room and played a new game of Phase 10 with Dad, Mom, Uncle Eli, Aunt AnnaLynn, Robin, and George. We never did finish that game either, but we had a crazy blast and finally went to bed around 1:30am. Sunday morning we got up cleaned the cabin and then said our goodbyes to everyone. We then left and I forgot my cell phone in the cabin so Nick and I had to go back and he had to squeeze through the fence for me because they had already locked the gate. Well, he got it for me and we then headed home where we rested for a bit before having to run off to Nick's parent's house so he could do some work for his dad. A fun and eventful weekend where we get to reconnect with family we only get to see maybe once a year. It was a great one!
Today I started my volunteering exclusively in the pediatric physical therapy gym at Phoebe Northwest today. Of course I already knew that I loved it, but I especially loved being only in the pediatric are because I've grown to love the kids so much. I am now volunteering there once a week just to help out the ladies in the peds gym and because I love it so much.
MY 24th BIRTHDAY! Nick, me, and my parents went to Callaway Gardens. There we went to the butterfly house where we saw lots of beautiful butterflies and a bunch of really pretty flowers. We also walked on a couple of the nature trails which were absolutely beautiful. While we were there, there was a Brass Band concert that we got to see before we left. We also had a really nice picnic for lunch where I got my birthday present from mom and dad and got to blow out a candle on my birthday brownies. We were exhausted, but we had a blast.
Nick, Me, and his parents went up to Atlanta for the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. There Nick and his dad had to dress up in tuxes and head off to the ceremonies where his mom and I weren't allowed. After they got back from the ceremony, we went to a traditional latin mass, which was definitely different for me, but it wasn't bad. We were supposed to go to a banquet, but the guys said that the place they were having it had no air conditioning and it was way too hot to be going in tuxes and all, so we just went out to dinner on our own at Olive Garden. I had some amazing chicken parmesian...YUM YUM! We stayed one more night and left that Sunday and we went out to eat at O'Charley's for lunch on the way home. All in all it was a good trip.
Today is my Mom and Dad's Anniversary! Happy Anniversary Barry and Karen Farrow!!!
Nick has a Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament again to help raise money for multiple charities that they support. Everything went well, it was a beautiful day for golfing. We had to get up REALLY early, but all in all it was fun day.
Nick had a Chicken-Q with the Knights of Columbus and I went and helped a little. Things went very well and they raised a pretty good amount of money to aid in getting the church's beams fixed.
