Well, today Mom had her knee replacement. We had to be up at the hospital today at 6:45am. We got up to Surgicare and sat and talked with some people from Mom and Dad's church. It wasn't too long before she was called back to get her IV put in and get all ready. After they got her ready, it wasn't too long before they came to take her to pre-op. We walked with her to the pr-op and then said our I love you's and see you later's. Dad and I went to the surgical waiting area and waited till around 10am where the surgeon came out and told us that all went well with the surgery. Around 12:30 or so, she finally made it to her room...#919. Pretty much since then, she been sleeping on and off. She hasn't really been able to eat, because she keeps getting sick, but other than that, she's been doing good just resting up for the big day tomorrow. Tomorrow, they will be getting her up and walking. We also want to say thank you to those who have checked up on her today and sent her flowers. Thank you Ms. Louise and Bill and Sally Sandefur!

Well I'm so excited today because we went to see our awesome bird breeder and we got an amazing HUGE new cage for Rudy. He looks so tiny in it, but I just know he's going to love it! We spent almost 7 hours at Amber and Mike's house today, visiting with them and playing with all the awesome birds! We took Rudy to visit too, who is now so super exhausted. He had such a big day today. He wasn't too sure about all the other birds seeing as he hasn't been around any since we got him from them back in January. So, we decided that we are going to try to start taking him over there for play dates to get him socialized with other birds, so maybe one day we can get another bird for him to play with. It was so fun watching Robert roar and flip upside-down like a dog playing with human....I don't think he knows he's a McCaw lol. Paco was a new one for us to see as well and he was a hoot with his sceaming and saying HELLO! We also got to play with the baby Red Rumps and also Monkey, the other Red Rump. They have such a sweet sound and are so adorable. Nick held Harley the Eclectus for a bit until he got a little nippy and had to go back to his cage for time out. We also played with a few Cockatiels that were also really adorable. I don't know about Nick, but the Cockatiels kind of made me miss Woodstock and the sweet sounds he used to make. It was so much fun getting to meet Dusty and Mario too. Mario is a very small McCaw and I can't remember what Dusty was, I'll have to ask Nick to see if he remembers. We had a blast and didn't even realize that 7 hours had gone by until we both started getting tired and hungry lol. Time just flies when we are there hanging out with Amber, Mike, and all the wonderful birdies. Can't wait to go back next time for our play date to socialize Rudy some more, until then Rudy will be getting used to his HUGE new cage. I'll post pictures later, it's like 3am and I'm pretty tired.. :o)
